'Sport and play have the power to improve wellbeing, build friendships, and foster understanding for young people. We have seen the positive impact of the non-contact version of the game in engaging young people in schools through School Games.

Schools have to make decisions around the safeguarding and wellbeing of young people within their sporting offer. This move will enable decisionmakers to choose rugby within their provision more often and ensure young people can learn how to move with confidence and competence, building self-esteem and positive self-image. Young people have shared with us that this non contact version of the game is more accessible to them, they are able to play in a safe and inspiring environment; and most importantly have fun whilst playing. This ultimately both suits and benefits new and experienced players to the game.'
